PUPPY TRAINING
A well-trained, obedient puppy is one of the most important foundations of responsible dog ownership and plays a huge role in your puppy’s long-term well-being, confidence, and happiness. Training from an early age helps prevent unwanted behaviours from developing whilst creating a calmer, more enjoyable relationship between both dog and owner.
The first few months of a puppy’s life are incredibly important for development, learning, and socialisation. Establishing structure, boundaries, and clear communication early on will help your puppy grow into a confident, well-rounded, and content adult dog that is easier to manage both at home and in public environments.
My private puppy training sessions are carefully designed to help you build a strong relationship with your puppy whilst teaching essential obedience and life skills in a calm, positive, and practical way. By working with your puppy’s instincts, senses, and learning style, I help owners better understand how to communicate effectively using clear, consistent training methods that deliver long-term results – not just short-term fixes.
The goal is not simply to create an obedient puppy, but to build trust, confidence, and a strong foundation for a lifetime of good behaviour.
PUPPY TRAINING
A well-trained, obedient puppy is a fundamental aspect of responsible dog ownership and essential to your puppy’s overall well-being and happiness. Training from a young age will lead to a well-behaved, well-rounded, and contented adult dog and create a harmonious living environment and happy owner!
My private training sessions have been designed to help you build a relationship with your new puppy, working with their heightened senses such as sight, sound, and smell to train them and learn to communicate using a simple, universal sign language.
All training sessions begin with a 30-minute phone consultation to discuss your puppy, your current routine, and any specific challenges or goals you may have. This allows me to gain a better understanding of your puppy’s breed, age, temperament, and home environment, whilst also giving me the opportunity to recommend useful products, feeding guidance, structure, and routines to help support your puppy’s development outside of training sessions.
I work with all puppy breeds from 8 weeks to 16 weeks old, helping owners establish strong foundations during the most important stages of early development. Training for older puppies is also available by arrangement, depending on individual requirements, behavioural challenges, and training goals.
Each programme is tailored specifically to you and your puppy, ensuring the training remains practical, achievable, and relevant to your day-to-day lifestyle.
Sessions are intentionally kept to approximately 60 minutes to maintain your puppy’s concentration levels and ensure training remains positive, engaging, and productive. Initial sessions usually take place within your home environment, helping your puppy learn in familiar surroundings where they feel most relaxed and secure.
As training progresses, sessions can then move into more challenging real-world environments, including indoor locations and local London parks such as Hyde Park, Holland Park, and Regent’s Park. This helps your puppy build confidence and reliability around distractions whilst reinforcing calm, controlled behaviour outside the home.
For owners looking for faster progression or additional support with toilet training, obedience, and early development, I also offer a residential Puppy Boot Camp programme designed to give puppies the strongest possible start before returning home.
BASIC COMMANDS
Build the foundations for clear communication and good behaviour from an early age. Training includes essential commands such as sit, stay, down, wait, and focus, using a combination of verbal cues, sign language, and positive reinforcement techniques to help your puppy learn quickly and confidently. The aim is to create calm, behaviour both at home and out in public environments.
TOILET TRAINING
Fast-track toilet training designed to help establish reliable habits and routines from the beginning. We focus on understanding your puppy’s routine, diet, body language, and key behavioural signs to reduce accidents and encourage consistency. The goal is to build confidence for both owner and puppy whilst making the transition into home life as smooth as possible.
SOCIALISATION
Positive socialisation is a vital part of your puppy’s emotional development and long-term behaviour. Sessions help puppies safely experience new people, dogs, sounds, environments, and situations in a calm and controlled way, helping to build confidence and reduce fear, anxiety, or reactive behaviours later in life.
LEAD WALKING
Teach your puppy to walk calmly and confidently on the lead without pulling, tugging, or becoming overstimulated. Sessions focus on improving engagement, responsiveness, and loose-lead walking skills, helping to create relaxed, enjoyable walks for both puppy and owner. Training also helps puppies become more comfortable around distractions, busy environments, and other dogs.
RECALL
Develop strong recall skills so your puppy learns to reliably return when called, even in distracting environments. Training focuses on building trust, engagement, and positive associations, giving your puppy more freedom whilst providing you with greater confidence and peace of mind during walks and outdoor activities.
ENRICHMENT
Mental stimulation and enrichment are just as important as physical exercise during puppy development. Training includes guidance on play, interaction, problem-solving activities, and healthy stimulation to help prevent boredom and encourage balanced, fulfilled behaviour. A mentally enriched puppy is often calmer, happier, and easier to train overall.
